One and only, legend in his own time.
David is from the South, although he sometimes conflates this with the Midwest. He loves watching documentaries, learning about plants, taking up new musical instruments, and ranting about the MTA.
One can say David sees the world in a unique way, through the lens of art. That person would be right. He is never far from a camera to capture his distinctive view of the world around him, often showing us the aesthetics and beauty in everyday life along with his humor.
David has a big heart. He is always there for the people he loves. He is wicked smart, witty, and very driven. He is a successful professional photographer and videographer.
Our Story
In December 2011 David and I met online, and we quickly hit it off. Our first meeting was at Starbucks on a cold winter evening. I had a good feeling about him, but walked into the shop a bit nervous. His smile put me at ease. He got a coffee and I ordered hot chocolate. We talked for hours about our lives, our families, friends, and experiences. We kept talking until they kicked us out 🙂
We huddled back out into the cold, quickly deciding to grab dinner nearby. It was at that restaurant I told David the Oklahoma band Hanson inspired me to learn guitar. He didn’t believe me at all, as coworkers of his teased him about the band when they had dropped by their workplace to do an interview. (Ha, poor guy has heard songs from “Middle of Nowhere” more than he ever realized he would over the years!). Dinner marched on and we both felt pretty lucky to have found one another in a city millions of people. We quickly decided to squeeze in another date before we both left town for Christmas (him Oklahoma, me Texas).
I’ve read somewhere the day before your life changes feels like any other day. I’ve found that to be very true. Life happens one day at a time, one moment at a time. We don’t know from the outset who is going to be the person we build a life with. It didn’t take long for me to fall for David. In our first year of dating I knew he was the one for me.
We’ve been together 5 years and in that time we’ve been through a lot; we’ve experienced much love as well as grief. Losing family members we miss every day but keep in our hearts. As we look towards the future we know wherever life takes us we will walk this path together, and see blessings in our journey.
